Cabernet Sauvignon: Best known here in the States for it's deep aroma and classic flavors, the Chilean variety is of similar complexity. It's black cherry flavor combined with a raspberry and cassis undertone is well balanced with its tannins and acids.
Merlot: Rich in color with a fruity complexity, the Chilean Merlot is highlighted by cherry and black currant flavors. Due to its higher sugar level this varietal tends to be sweeter than a Cab. Couple that with less tannins this wine is well rounded and is one of the few reds that can be enjoyed young.
Syrah: Violet in color is the intense wine produced from these grapes. Rich with a chewy texture this wine tends to be spicier than it is fruity. Perfect to blend with or enjoy by itself, this wine is of exceptional quality.
Malbec: It has been said that if there is a middle ground between a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Merlot, then the wine one is looking for is a Malbec. Traditionally described as a "Bordeaux" variety, it abounds with ample tannins along with a plum-like flavor. Like the Syrah it is an ideal wine to enjoy as a blend or on its own.
Carmenere: Originally planted in the Medoc region of Bordeaux, France, the wine produced from Carmenere grapes is prized for its richness in color along with its herbal, earthy flavor. Interesting when blended, its soft and gentile tannins add to its cherry-like and smoky flavor. A fine wine to blend.
